A message was posted at the wrong time

If a celebration arrived at the wrong hour or on an unexpected day, check its time zone and post time together. A birthday can follow the member's clock or the server's clock, while anniversaries and custom events use the server's.

On the website

1. Open General and check Server timezone.
2. For birthdays, open Birthdays and check Timezone and Post time.
3. For an anniversary, open its dashboard page and check Post time. For a custom event, open that event to check its own Post time.
4. Press Save changes on each page you change.

What success looks like

The saved post hour matches the hour you want on the clock that celebration uses. Members following different time zones can be celebrated at different moments even when the post hour is the same.

The celebration is following the wrong clock

Check: On Birthdays, read Timezone. Member's uses each member's time zone; Server's uses Server timezone from General. If no server time zone is set, birthdays fall back to members' time zones.

Member anniversaries and server anniversaries always use Server timezone, with their own Post time on the matching dashboard page. They do not have a member/server timezone choice. Custom events also use the server timezone.

Fix: For birthdays, choose the clock you intended and save. If you choose Server's, set Server timezone on General too. See Server settings.

The selected time zone is wrong

Check: For server-based celebrations, read Server timezone on General. For a birthday following the member's clock, ask that member to check My timezone in My settings.

Fix: Select the correct zone and save. Use Find a timezone on General or Find my timezone in My settings if needed. See Server settings or Set your birthday.

The post hour is different from what you expected

Check: Read Post time for the celebration involved. Each anniversary has its own setting, and each custom event has its own post time.

Fix: Change that setting to the desired hour on the relevant clock and save. Set up birthday celebrations, member anniversaries, and server anniversaries show the matching controls.

A numeric date was read the other way around

Check: Ask the member to check their saved Month and Day in My settings. The server's Date format affects how the birthday command reads numeric dates, so a month and day can be swapped.

Fix: Correct the saved birthday using the website's separate month and day fields. Changing Date format alone does not change birthdays already saved. See Set your birthday and Server settings.

A February 29 birthday was celebrated on February 28

Check: Check whether that year has a February 29. In a non-leap year, Birthday Bot celebrates February 29 birthdays on February 28.

Fix: Leave the saved birthday as February 29. This is the expected fallback, and the birthday returns to February 29 in leap years. See Set your birthday.
