Birthday lists

Members can look up birthdays in Discord, and Premium servers can keep an automatically updated birthday list in a channel. Create that permanent list from the website's Birthdays page. Member anniversary lists work the same way, using members' server join dates instead of birthdays.

On the website

1. Choose your server and open Birthdays.
2. Under Birthday list, choose the channel where you want the list.
3. Press Create list and wait for the card to show the channel as active.
4. Press View message ↗ to open the list in Discord.

Creating the list happens right away; it does not wait for the page's Save changes button.

What success looks like

The Birthday list card shows Active in followed by the channel. Birthday Bot posts a list there and refreshes that same message every few hours.

What about member anniversary lists?

Open Member anniversaries and find Anniversary list. Choose a channel and press Create list, just as you would for a birthday list. This permanent list also requires Premium, and has the same View message ↗, Remove list, and Regenerate controls.

Member anniversary lists use server join dates, so members do not need to set a birthday. The member anniversary List appearance requirement on Trusted roles controls who qualifies. Birthday privacy and the birthday blacklist do not apply to member anniversaries.

Who appears in the birthday list?

Members need a saved birthday that is visible in this server. Privacy settings, the blacklist, and trusted roles can leave someone out.

How do I remove or replace the list?

Press Remove list and confirm. The message stays in Discord but stops updating.

If the card says List message was deleted, choose a channel and press Regenerate to post a fresh list. Creating and regenerating require Premium, and so does refreshing: if Premium ends, the list stays posted but stops updating until Premium is active again.

Common problems

• A birthday is missing. Ask the member to confirm they have set their birthday for this server, then check the server restrictions in A birthday was not announced.
• The bot cannot post or update the list. Follow the channel warning and check its permissions.
• The command asks me to vote. See I cannot use a command, or read the voting rule below.

Using Discord instead

Use the list command to browse birthdays or member anniversaries. The next-celebration command finds the next upcoming celebration; it starts from tomorrow, so a celebration happening today does not count as the next one.

Needs a vote means a recent vote may be required when voting checks are enabled. Premium servers skip that check. If the bot asks you to vote, follow its prompt and try again. Turning the list's pages checks the same rule.

Server staff can also create or clear a permanent birthday or member-anniversary list in Discord. Creating a replacement asks for confirmation when a list of that kind already exists.
