Create custom events

Custom events are a Premium feature for scheduled announcements, such as a yearly server party or a one-time meetup. Each event has its own date, post time, ping, and message.

Open your server dashboard

On the website

  1. Choose your server and open Custom events.
  2. Under Announcement, choose a Channel and Post mode, then press Save changes. These settings apply to every custom event.
  3. Press + New event. Enter a Name, Month, and Day.
  4. Under Repeats, choose Yearly or One year only. For a one-time event, choose its year too.
  5. Set Post time and Ping for this event. Post time follows the server's time zone, which you can change in Server settings.
  6. Under Message, choose Plain text or Embed and write the announcement. See Customize your messages for styling and Placeholders for details you can insert.
  7. Check the preview and press Create event. To change an existing event, open it from Custom events, edit it, and press Save changes.

You can save up to 500 custom events.

What success looks like

Your event appears on Custom events. When its date and post hour arrive, Birthday Bot sends its message to the shared event channel. For example:

What happens after a one-time event?

An event set to One year only does not repeat next year. Once its date is past, it is hidden from the usual list rather than deleted. Turn on Show past one-off events to find it again, then open it to edit or delete it.

Common problems

  • I cannot save an event, or my events stopped posting. Custom events need active Premium on this server. Check Premium activation.
  • The event was posted at the wrong hour. Its own Post time uses the server's time zone. See A message was posted at the wrong time.
  • The message or ping did not work. Check the warnings beside Channel, Post mode, or Ping, then follow Missing permissions.
  • An older event disappeared from the list. Turn on Show past one-off events to see events whose one-time date has passed.
