How do I get started as a server owner?

Open your server dashboard and choose a birthday channel on Birthdays. Follow Set up birthday celebrations to choose a role and check the setup too.

How do I add my birthday?

Open My settings on the website and add your birthday and time zone. Set your birthday walks through saving it.

Do I have to give my birth year?

No, your birth year is optional. You can celebrate your birthday without sharing your age; see Set your birthday.

Can I hide my birthday in one server?

Yes, your privacy choices can apply everywhere or override the default in one server. Your privacy explains how to hide your birthday or just your age.

How do I find my time zone?

Use Find my timezone beside the time zone field in My settings. Follow Set your birthday to save that zone with your date.

Does the bot follow my time zone or the server's?

The server chooses whether birthdays follow each member's time zone or the server's time zone. Server settings explains the choice; use A message was posted at the wrong time if the result surprises you.

Can the server hide everyone's ages?

Yes, Disable ages stops the server showing ages even when members allow them. See Server settings for the server-wide setting and Your privacy for your own choices.

What is an embed?

An embed is a message displayed as a card, with room for details such as a title and image. Customize your messages explains the editor's embed setting and which styling features require Premium.

Can I write my own birthday message?

Yes, you can edit birthday messages and use placeholders to fill in celebration details. Start with Customize your messages, then use the placeholder reference when writing your text.

Can I change how members' names appear?

Yes, Name format on General has separate choices for messages, lists, and everywhere else. Server settings explains how those choices affect the names you see.

Can I stop particular members from being celebrated?

Yes, the blacklist can exclude a member or members with a selected role from birthdays. Choose who gets celebrated explains the blacklist and how trusted roles work.

Do members need to buy Premium individually?

No, Premium applies to the server it was bought for, and everyone there benefits. Birthday Bot Premium explains buying it and checking which server has it.
